A computer-based process for matching potential workers with part-time work opportunities includes determining location (e.g., GPS) data corresponding to a potential worker; determining part-time work opportunities existing within a predetermined distance from the potential worker's location; and presenting part-time work opportunities within this predetermined distance on a visual display of a worker communication device (e.g., a smart phone). Presented work opportunities can be selected, and work details (e.g., work location, work date(s) / time(s), and compensation) can be presented on the visual display. A potential worker can accept a work opportunity to become an actual worker, and can clock-in and/or clock-out at an employer's work site by capturing a machine readable code (e.g., a QR code) using their worker communication device, and communicating this code to a remote system to establish clock-in/ clock-out times. The process can include generating and storing worker reviews of employers and/or employer reviews of workers.
