The invention relates to an arrangement for a lensless, holographic in-line reflected light microscope. The aim of the invention is to provide such an arrangement which allows a compact chip-based design by omitting imaging optics, wherein even large samples or sample sections can be imaged. This is achieved in that a sample carrier (2) with a sample (21), a plane-parallel partially translucent mirror (3) arranged above said sample carrier at a first distance (h1) to the sample, and a digital detector array (1) [CCD, CMOS] at another distance (h2) to the partly reflective surface (31) of the mirror are provided in a substantially mutually plane-parallel arrangement. A punctiform light source (11) is provided in the effective surface (12) of the detector array (1) in order to emit coherent radiation, and the ratio of the edge length (b) of the effective surface (12) of the detector array (1) to the distance (h) from said detector array to the sample carrier (2) is selected so as to range from 3/2 to 4/1.
