In the present invention, a two-page frame that is allocated so as to span across two facing pages is displayed as one frame or as separate frames. The position of a two-page frame (F2) that is allocated so as to span across a page image (P1) and a page image (P2) constituting a two-page image (P) is detected with the two-page image (P) as a reference image, and with each of the page image (P1) and the page image (P2) as a reference. The respective detected positions are stored in a frame data file. When displaying the two-page frame (F2) as a single frame, the two-page frame (F2) is extracted from the two-page image (P). When displaying the two-page frame (F2) as separate frames, the section of the frame that is contained in the page image (P1) is extracted from the page image (P1) and the section of the frame that is contained in the page image (P2) is extracted from the page image (P2).
