The present invention provides a method for preparing a polycyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate resin, comprising the steps of: preparing a liquid mixture by mixing a diol compound including cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM) dissolved in water and a dicarboxylic acid including terephthalic acid (TPA) or dimethyl terephthalic acid (DMT); and injecting nitrogen into the liquid mixture and stirring and bubbling the same. According to the present invention, a polycyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate resin which is excellent in a degree of polymerization, color, and color stability and has remarkably improved thermal stability can be prepared using the method for preparing a polycyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate resin. In addition, the polycyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate resin of the present invention is suitable for an LED housing material to which surface mount technology (SMT) is applied.
