The method involves providing fabrication data relative to nuclear fuel assemblies (16), and providing neutronics data representing previous exploitation and future exploitation of a nuclear reactor core (1) during exploitation cycle. A three-dimensional distribution of local power is calculated in the core during the future exploitation. Extreme values attained by a thermomechanical parameter are calculated within the assemblies using thermomechanical computation software such as Copernic software. A loading pattern is selected among loading patterns based on the calculated extreme values. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for selecting a loading pattern of a nuclear reactor core (2) a computer program comprising set of instructions for executing a method for selecting a loading pattern of a nuclear reactor core (3) a medium for storing program to execute the method for selecting a loading pattern of a nuclear reactor core.
