The present invention discloses high speed uplink packet access (HSUPA) rate control, which comprises a method of wireless communication, comprising: determining whether an acknowledgement or a negative acknowledgement is received in response to a previous uplink transmission; and adjusting an uplink data rate for a current uplink transmission based at least in part on whether the acknowledgement or the negative acknowledgement was received.
