Provided is a grid connection device for purchasing power that is capable of connecting to the high-voltage or extra high-voltage grid of a power company, that has a compact configuration, that prevents the connection of a load between a power conditioner and a connection point, and that exhibits no power factor lag. A grid connection device for purchasing power that supplies solar- or wind-generated power to an existing high-voltage power grid (11) is provided with: a power conditioner (2) comprising an inverter (3) that converts generated DC power to AC power and a reactor (4); a step-up transformer (6) that converts AC power output from the power conditioner (2) into high-voltage power; and a switch unit (14) that is arranged between the step-up transformer (6) and the existing high-voltage power grid and that outputs power to a separate grid (18). The grid connection device is characterized in that the power conditioner (2), the step-up transformer (6), and a breaker (7) are arranged within the same housing.
