The present invention relates to a method for isolating and highly purifying D-chiro-inositol from a mixed solution of myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol. The method according to the present invention adds an organic solvent into a solution comprising myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol, and induces myo-inositol to precipitate, thereby increasing the purity of D-chiro-inositol in the mixed solution. Accordingly, the method according to the present invention can separate, with high purity, D-chiro-inositol from a mixed solution of myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol simply and economically.
