METHOD FOR TRAVERSING FIREWALL, CLIENT AND MEDIA TRAVERSING SERVER

Provided are a method for traversing a firewall, a client and a media traversing server. The method includes: determining the address of a client in a local area network; sending the information including the address of the client to a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server; receiving from the SIP server the information including the address of the Media Traversing Server (MTS) at the network side; establishing, according to the addresses of the client and the MTS, a tunnel for transmitting the SIP media data between the client and the MTS, wherein the tunnel traverses the firewall of the local area network between the client and the MTS, and the SIP media data include the Real-time Transmission Protocol (RTP) data and the Real-time Transmission Control Protocol (RTCP) data. In the implementation of the present invention, by establishing a traversing tunnel on the media plane between the client and MTS at the network side, the media data, such as the RTP data, the RTCP data etc., are enabled to be transmitted through the tunnel, thus reducing the time of call procedure, and improving the user experience.
