The device has a clothing element such as harness (100), vest, belt, bracelet, and helmet that is provided to be worn by the user (U). The clothing element is incorporated with a signaling mechanism connected to a controller of the lift. The signaling mechanism is provided with an element which is to be actuated by the user to trigger an emergency stop button (101) of the lift. The signaling mechanism is matched with the controller, which is specific to lift or group of lifts. The clothing element is provided with proximity sensor (105) to detect obstacle. An independent claim is included for aerial lift.
