Bolt assembly (1) for a bolt-action rifle, wherein this bolt assembly (1) is intended to move inside an inner cavity (3) of a receiver of a rifle and comprises a body (4), a removable bolt head (6), at least one protruding element (7) that tends to protrude elastically from the body (4), so that when allowed to protrude elastically unhindered, the bolt assembly (1) cannot be inserted inside the inner cavity (3) of the receiver (2). The connection of the bolt head (6) to the body (4) causes the protruding element (7) to elastically contract, enough to allow the bolt assembly (1) to be inserted inside the inner cavity (3) of the receiver (2). Thus, a single elastic protruding element (7) enables the user to be warned if trying to assemble the body (4) without the bolt head (6) into the receiver (2).
