A modular climbing tree comprises at least a plurality of poles (34) and connecting components (1;21;36;41) configured for connecting the poles (34) or for connecting poles (40) and accessories. The connecting components (1;21;36;41) comprises at least one connecting component (1;21;36;41) that has a first connecting part (3;23;37;42) configured for fastening to a pole (34) or a surface and an opposite second connecting part (4;22;4';43) having at least one male coupling element (5a,5b) and at least one female coupling element (6a,6b) for engaging and locking with mating coupling elements (6a,6b;5a,5b) of another connecting component (1;21;36;41) selected from the connecting components (1;21;36;41). The at least one male coupling elements (5a,5b) and at least one female coupling elements (6a,6b) on opposing connecting component (1;21;36;41) are engaged to interlock. Thereafter the opposite connecting component (1;21;36;41) are rotated about their common axis to further lock together in detachable manner.
