The invention relates to a locating system for avalanche rescue, at least having a data acquisition module for radio signals and having a mobile communication terminal. The invention further relates to a data acquisition module for radio signals which is suitable for the locating system for avalanche rescue. The invention finally relates to a method for locating a unit transmitting avalanche radio signals using the locating system. The locating system according to the invention comprises the following components: the data acquisition module comprises a receiving part having a receiving antenna unit which is designed to receive standardized avalanche radio signals, referred to as LVS locating signals. The receiving unit has means for preparing the received LVS locating signals and further has an interface for the wired or wireless transmission of the prepared LVS locating signals to the communication terminal. The communication terminal comprises a functional unit which processes the transferred, prepared LVS locating signals and which generates locating information that can be visually depicted on at least one output medium.
