The purpose of the present invention is to provide a laminated-inductor-element manufacturing method whereby even a thin laminate is resistant to breakage and magnetic characteristics are maintained. Magnetic substrates in the present invention have a higher coefficient of linear expansion than either a nonmagnetic paste or a nonmagnetic substrate. As such, when a laminate is fired, magnetic layers expand more than a nonmagnetic layer, and when the laminate is cooled to room temperature, the magnetic layers contract more than the nonmagnetic layer. Tensile stress is thus produced in the magnetic layers. As a result, cracks progress only in the magnetic layers. In this laminated-inductor-element manufacturing method, a nonmagnetic body is formed so as to straddle, at least, a segmentation line at a given point on the magnetic layers, and if the laminate is thin, the nonmagnetic body is formed, for example, near one of the surfaces of an outermost layer. The progression of cracks thus stops in a surface layer of the laminate, making the laminate resistant to breakage.
