Disclosed are a WLAN networking method and system. The method comprises: step S101: an access point sending a connection message to a client based on an address of the client, the connection message carrying authentication and verification information; and step S102: the client automatically connecting the access point based on the authentication and verification information in the connection message. The present invention can implement that the client automatically connects the access point, which saves some manual and tedious operations of the user on the client. The access point may actively discover a client existing in the surroundings and perform connection and communication with the client. Further, if access points belong to same networking, when a current access point reaches a maximum load, the current access point may actively instruct the client to connect another access point having an idle resource, so that the implementation is simple and rapid, which helps the user to establish a private network, thereby implementing network sharing.
