The address, diagnostic and/or configuration information are assigned to infrastructure apparatus attached to communication network. The device or communication status information of infrastructure apparatus is signaled by LEDS. The address, diagnostic and/or configuration information is indicated as device or communication status information by overlaid coded symbol sequence by LEDs. The LEDs are scanned by camera. The scanned LEDs are identified by diagnose unit. The address, diagnostic and/or configuration information is determined from overlaid coded symbol sequence. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) infrastructure apparatus; and (2) diagnose unit.
