Provided is an instrument for collecting body tissue whereby, in collecting a body tissue from a body cavity, variation in the amount of collected samples can be reduced. The instrument (10) for collecting body tissue comprises: an external member (3) which has a shape allowing the insertion thereof into a body cavity, said external member (3) having a first space therein and being provided with a first opening (2) for collecting in the wall face thereof; a collecting part (15) for collecting a part of a body tissue, said collecting part (15) being positioned within the first space in a manner movable in the first space and projecting from the first opening (2) for collecting toward the first space; and an operation part (7) for operating the collecting part (15) from the outside of the external member (3), said operation part (7) being connected to the collecting part (15).
