The system (1) has a worm shaft (5) protected by a housing part or housing section (12) that is separated from a housing (14) i.e. metal casting housing. A screw thread (4) is formed in the worm shaft, and a connection element (2) is combed with the screw thread and protected by the housing. The housing part or housing section has receiving or fastening points (A, B, S) for sensors, and the housing has receiving or fastening points (C, S) for sensors for detecting measuring parameters i.e. overload or position parameters, of the worm shaft along or orthogonal to a longitudinal axis (6). The connection element is designed as a worm gear. An independent claim is also included for a method for diagnosing and/or monitoring a tilt drive or worm gear system.
