The device has a set of spaced-apart receiving antennas (1, 2) that is not arranged on a line, where each antenna is provided with a detection unit for detecting the timing of reception of a high-power microwave pulse. A short-time measuring unit is arranged for determining two time differences between reception times of each of the detection units. A computing unit is arranged for calculating a place of origin of the high-power microwave pulse based on the two measured time differences.
