COUGH ASSIST DEVICE FOR PATIENT WITH GLOTTIS DYSFUNCTION

A cough assist device for a patient with glottis dysfunction is disclosed. The cough assist device for the patient with glottis dysfunction is characterized by comprising a valve body and an exhaust valve. The valve body comprises an inhalation unit which is coupled with a mask covering patient mouth and nose; an input unit which is coupled with an AMBU-bag; and a discharge unit for discharging gas discharged by expiration. The valve body is formed in a hollow tube with a predetermined length, has one or more vent pipes drilled at the outer circumference of one side in a perpendicular direction with respect to the length direction, and a hook formed at one end portion. The exhaust valve is mounted at the inside of the valve body to discharge air by connecting the inside of the valve body and a flow channel connected with the vent pipes while moving in a longitudinal direction of the valve body in a predetermined interval by pressing force or to block the discharge of air by blocking the flow channel while returning to the original position when the pressing force is blocked. According to the present invention, the cough assist device is easily driven by a patient because the working structure is simple and the failure rate is low with few components. The cough assist device remarkably reduces the failure rate because the flow channel is opened in a longitudinal direction by pressing an opening/closing member toward patient’s face and the pressing direction corresponds to the opening direction of the flow channel.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
