The method involves supplying (100) a set of reference files (54) modeling a reference design flow, supplying (102) a reference design rules manual (DRM) (50), and supplying (104) a client DRM (58) relative to a design flow. Client process design kit (PDK) (60) is generated (106) from reference files and from the manual. The reference files are filtered by suppressing all data relative to non-selected three-dimensional connection devices and by precision of the reference DRM by using the manual of rules of designs. A model (62) of integrated circuit is designed from the PDK. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program downloadable from a communication network and/or recorded on a medium readable by a computer and/or processor, including instructions to execute steps of a method for designing an integrated circuit (2) a system for designing an integrated circuit.
