DEVICE FOR CUTTING A CAST STRAND OF A STRAND CASTING SYSTEM

The device comprises cutting torches (23) which are directed transversely to a cast strand (12). Several gas injection nozzles (25) blow a gas against cast strand at the cutting point (15) in order to remove the burrs (17) which form as a result of the cutting process at the sides of cast strand. A water injection nozzle (24) is arranged downwards with respect to cast strand so as to spray water on combustion slag (16) and to form a solidified granule (26). An independent claim is included for continuous strand casting system.
