Method for estimating the pollutant concentration in an urban agglomerate comprising the steps of: acquiring a digital elevation model of the ground; definition of a group of pollutant sources; definition of the wind direction and speed; computation of the density of planar and frontal area of the buildings and so of the horizontal and vertical free surface; computation of the vertical and horizontal mass flow by multiplying, for each area in which the wind speed is considered constant, the wind speed by the free surface perpendicular thereto; computation of the residence time τp (pollutant average age) and determination of the residence maps of the pollutant for a given city or portion thereof.
