Disclosed are an air cooling type converter for an aerogenerator, and an air cooling type cooling control method. The converter for an aerogenerator includes a filter module and one or more inverter modules, and comprises a sirocco fan which is installed on the lowest part of at least one module among the filter module and the inverter modules in order to raise the air in the lower side of the module; a heat exchanger which is installed in the upper part of the sirocco fan in order to cool the raised air by the sirocco fan; one or more axial fans which are installed in the upper part of the heat exchanger in order to form a moving path of the cooled air by the heat exchanger; and a control unit which controls the operating parameters of the axial fans.
