PURPOSE: A composition containing a Sepiae os extract for preventing and treating emphysema and pulmonary hypertension is provided to effectively suppress elastase and to remove DPPH and NO without side effects. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating emphysema and pulmonary hypertension contains a Sepiae os extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared by adding 100-10000 parts by weight of 10-100 volume% ethanol solution to 100 parts by weight of Sepiae os and heating for 10 minutes to 30 hours.
