The present invention relates to a process and a device of a zero valent iron based water treatment for removing nitric nitrogen from water. The water treatment process comprises the steps of: a denitrification which removes nitric nitrogen using zero valent iron; and a filtering step which filters the outcome using a separating membrane. The device of water treatment comprises: a zero valent iron reactor where the nitric nitrogen is reduced by the zero valent iron; an aeration chamber where an aeration process is performed by an air injection; a settling chamber where cohered materials are settled down; and a separator chamber where the filtering process is performed by the separating membrane. The present invention can improve durability and reduction ability of zero valent iron using red mud on the combination of the zero valent iron and separating membrane; and the ammonium ions generated as a byproduct can be decreased using sodium hypochlorite; in addition, sterilization processes can be simplified or omitted by removing microorganisms with the separating membrane.
