The present invention relates to an analytic method for arranging the optimal number of relay stations in two-hop relay networks and, more specifically, to an analytic method which can produce an arrangement plan for the optimal number of relay stations by analyzing effects of the arrangement of the variable number of relay stations on an average two-hop channel capacity in an entire system in two-hop relay networks where multiple relay stations acts as relays between a transmitting party and a receiving party. The present invention provides the analytic method for arranging the optimal number of relay stations in two-hop relay networks which can analyze effects of the arrangement of relay stations on an average two-hop channel capacity in an entire system comprising the following steps of: dividing the entire two-hop relay networks into multiple detailed clusters; calculating an average link distance between a user for each divided cluster and a relay station; calculating an average link distance between a base station for each divided cluster and a relay station; and analyzing change in a system channel capacity based on the number of relay stations arranged by assigning the average link distance between the users and the relay station and the average link distance between the base stations and the relay station.
