The present invention relates to an electric heat pump boiler for air conditioning and an automatic defrosting method. The electric heat pump boiler includes a water can (400) serving as a radiator and having a plurality of defrosting insulating tanks disposed therein, a temperature controller (410) controlling an automatic solenoid valve so as to allow hot water to be automatically supplied to the water can (400) according to the measured temperature from a temperature sensor (470), a hot water tank (420) storing the hot water therein, a circulating pump (430) circulating the hot water in the hot water tank (420) and the water can (400), a compressor (440) compressing liquefied refrigerant gas, a condenser (450) condensing the hot water from the circulating pump (430), an expansion valve (460) reducing the pressure of the high pressure liquefied refrigerant gas, and the temperature sensor (470) sensing whether frost is generated on the water can (400).
