The present invention provides a flight simulator for special mission training and a method for controlling the same. The method comprises: a first step of operating an OTW controller installed in an instructor station system unit so as to transceive command signals for setting special mission training modes in a hard wire signal form to a main computer unit; a second step of calculating and analyzing the signals of the OTW controller for setting special mission training modes through the main computer unit after the first step and transmitting display control signals according to special mission training modes corresponding to the signals of the OTW controller to a display; and a third step of showing an OTW scene according to the special mission training modes set by means the instructor station system unit through the display according to the display control signals for special mission training modes so as to enable a pilot trainee to receive training through a cockpit system unit. In the present invention, a complete flight simulator is controlled through an instructor station system, and the simulator is formed in order to show particular situations needed for training. When an instructor inputs training situation application conditions through the instructor station system, a pilot trainee can easily learn functions such as forest fire extinguishing, air freight transport, and fast drop/helicopter rappel training equipped in the simulator. Accordingly, training effects in preparing for actual missions can be maximized.
