The present invention relates to an air conditioner for both cooling and heating operations and, more specifically, to an air conditioner for both cooling operation and heating operation having dehumidification function, wherein heating and dehumidification for a vehicle compartment can be simultaneously carried out. To achieve this, the present invention provides an air conditioner for both cooling operation and heating operation having a dehumidification function including: an indoor heat exchanger disposed in a duct in a vehicle compartment to supply refrigerant and is able to switch the function of the indoor heat exchanger as a condenser or an evaporator based on the operation modes to carry out heat exchanges with the air in the vehicle compartment; an auxiliary heat exchanger disposed close to the indoor heat exchanger in the duct to operate the heat exchanger as an evaporator when the indoor heat exchanger is operated as a condenser, while operating the heat exchanger as a condenser when the indoor heat exchanger is operated as an evaporator; and a three-way valve to control the refrigerant which has passed through the indoor heat exchanger during the heating operation to be selectively branched and flow through the auxiliary heat exchanger after passing through a four-way valve.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
