Disclosed are mortar for exterior insulation and an exterior insulation system using the same, the exterior insulation system using mortar which has uniform and optimized physical properties to allow quality control during site operation, thereby securing excellent adhesive property and long-term durability. The mortar for exterior insulation according to the present invention comprises: 28-35 wt% of portlant cement, 40-50 wt% of silica sand, 15-19 wt% of calcium carbonate, 5.5-7.5 wt% of a re-emulsifiable powdered resin, 0.03-0.08 wt% of a defoaming agent, 0.01-0.20 wt% of methyl cellulose and 0.05-0.20 wt% of methyl ethyl cellulose.
