ENERGY EFFECTIVE ROUTING METHOD AND APPARATUS IN WIRELESS AD-HOC NETWORK

In the present invention, disclosed are an energy effective routing method and apparatus in a wireless AD-HOC network. The method according to the present invention includes the steps of: (a) receiving a route request packet from a plurality of adjacent nodes, wherein, the route request packet is broadcasted from a source node and includes each remaining battery capacity information of the adjacent nodes, a first cost value and a first expected transmission count (ETX) about a link with a first node to transmit the route request packet to the adjacent nodes; (b) calculating a second ETX about each link of the adjacent nodes; (c) calculating a second cost value for each of the adjacent nodes using the second ETX and the remaining battery capacity information; and (d) selecting an optimum route by using the first ETX, the second ETX, the first cost value, and the second cost value.
