A computer-implemented method for designing an assembly of objects in a three-dimensional scene of a system of computer-aided design includes the steps of: providing a first locator (LOC1) associated with a first design dimension range to the scene (S1); and providing at least one second locator (LOC2a,LOC2b) respectively associated with a second design dimension range to the scene (S2). The first design dimension range has an upper bound greater than the upper bound of the second design dimension range.
