COMPACT MIMO ANTENNAS WITH THE METAMATERIAL ZEROTH-ORDER-RESONANCE ELECTRIC-FIELD DISTRIBUTION FOR HIGHER ANTENNA-INTEGRATION AND LOWER INTERFERENCE, AND ARRAY STRUCTURES.
The present invention relates to a new compact meta-material antenna appropriate to develop a multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) and a compact base station system and multiple arrays thereof. The zero-order resonant compact antenna according to the present invention includes a flat right hand transmission unit (RH) and a left hand transmission unit (LH) coupled to the right hand transmission unit (RH) with a gap. The left hand transmission unit (LH) has an opened ring-shaped mushroom structure. Therefore, the diversity gain of a unit antenna and the density of the antenna for MIMO communication are improved, and interference between adjacent elements is reduced in multiple arrays.
