An embodiment of the present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for forming a beam for enhancing a beam-forming resolution, the method including the steps of: quasi-randomly selecting driving frequencies for an ultrasonic wave of each channel from at least two candidate frequencies; setting a phase by considering the wavelength of the driving frequencies that are selected for the ultrasonic wave of each of the channels, and a distance between a physical position of a channel element and a focal point; and generating the ultrasonic wave in accordance with the driving frequencies that are selected for each of the channels and the phase.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
