The present invention relates to a composite beam where a steel beam and concrete are integrated, and more particularly, to a depth-reducing composite beam which combines a steel beam with an open channel and an H-beam having a punched vertical portion to concrete without having any separate form, thus achieving efficient utilization of steel and concrete, and to a steel structure using the same, which economically and efficiently reduces negative moments generated on the end portions of the composite beam. According a proper embodiment of the present invention, the depth-reducing composite beam includes: the open channel having a bottom plate, side plates extended upwards from both ends of the bottom plate, and wing plates extended outward from the side plates; the H-beam having an upper flange, a web, and a lower flange, wherein the lower side of the lower flange touches the upper side of the bottom plate of the open channel and coupled therewith, while having a longer length than the open channel so as to allow both ends thereof to protrude by a given length from the open channel, and the web has a plurality of connection holes formed spaced apart from each other on the upper portion thereof between the wing plates of the open channel and the upper flange in a longitudinal direction; a plurality of first connection members fixed to the top of the wing plates of the open channel located at both sides of the web through first connection holes formed on the upper portion of the web of the H-beam; concrete filled inside the open channel so as to be integrally combined to the open channel, and the lower flange and the web of the H-beam; and slab concrete formed on top of the wing plates of the open channel to allow the upper flange and the upper portion of the web of the H-beam to be embedded thereinto and combined integrally thereto.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
