The present invention provides an apparatus and method for transferring data, which can improve the quality of real-time multimedia by retransmitting the lost data before a playing limit time when the data has a loss. A server is configured to store a packet which is transmitted from an application layer, in a buffer and then to transfer the packet to a network layer. A client receives the packet from the server and transfers an ACK to the server after additionally receiving packets during a predetermined period. In addition, the present invention provides an end-to-end protocol for repeatedly retransmitting a multimedia packet having a loss in lifetime of packets.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
