The present invention relates to an apparatus for detecting toxic gas and providing a warning using an infrared spectrometer, which can analyze, monitor, and warn about toxic gas in real time, which was caused by a fire or toxic gas leakage from a gas storage tank. An open-path Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer is used for the apparatus for detecting and warning against toxic gas, which includes: a measuring module, a light source module, and an analyzing/alarming module. The measuring module includes: a first case; an open-path FT-IR spectrometer which obtains a spectrum for toxic gas molecules existing outside; aligning laser which radiates laser beams in order to align an infrared light source and an infrared spectrometer; a distance measuring device which radiates laser beams in order to measure a distance to the infrared light source; and a temperature measuring device which measures temperature in a measurement area. The light source module includes: a second case which is placed separately from the first case at a fixed interval; an infrared light source which radiates infrared rays toward the infrared spectrometer after passing the measurement area; and an aligning target where the laser beams radiated from the aligning laser enter. The analyzing/alarming module automatically analyzes the spectrum obtained by the infrared spectrometer using embedded software in order to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on toxic gas and to generate an alarm according to the analysis results.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
