A method for operating a home button function by using a drawing motion in a personal portable terminal having a touch panel comprises the steps of: defining the boundary of a display related to the touch panel to divide the outside and the inside of the display; sensing the drawing motion which comprises the entry from the outside of the display to the inside of the display, the motion in the inside of the display, and the separation from the inside of the display to the outside of the display; and executing a function which corresponds to the home button with the drawing motion.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
