The present invention relates to an automatic capping apparatus and an automatic capping method using the same. More concretely, the automatic capping apparatus comprises: a cradle installed in the fixing recess of a lower mold, forming a plurality of cradling holes penetrated in an up and down direction, and cradling a container with a lid in the cradling holes; an upper mold installed over the upper side of the lower mold; an upper plate installed on the lower side of the upper mold; an upper piece installed on the lower side of the upper plate forming a protruding part of which lower part protrudes to one side for covering the lid of the container cradled in the cradling holes of the cradle; a horizontal moving part installed between the upper plate and the upper mold for horizontally moving the upper plate; a vertical moving part for moving the upper module in an up and down direction; and a controller for controlling the horizontal moving part and the service moving part. The container of which lid is opened is cradled in a corresponding cradling hole of the cradle to be positioned on the lower side of the upper piece; the upper piece is horizontally moved by the horizontal moving part to position the protruding part of the upper piece out of the upper side of the lid while the cradle is being cradled in the lower mold; the upper mold is moved downwards to position the protruding part of the upper piece at a position lower than the lid, and the lower end of the upper piece is positioned to the lower side of the lid in a vertical direction by the horizontal moving part; the upper piece is moved upwards by the vertical moving part, the end part of the lid is rotated upwards, then the upper piece is moved to the upper side of the container by the horizontal moving part, thereby the lid is rotated and the container is closed.
