The present invention relates to apparatus and method for indigoid dyeing, using naturally-fermented indigoid dyes. The apparatus for indigoid dyeing comprises: a dye chamber where indigoid dyes are filled and which has first grooves on both sides while second grooves are formed between the first grooves; a roll bar where the front end of raw fabric is rolled and fixed and which moves with the raw fabric; a heavy pipe which is inserted into the first and second grooves; motors which are separated in a side and the other side of the dye chamber at regular intervals to be connected and operated to the roller; a rolling member having a inverter which is installed in a side of the motor to control the moving speed of the raw fabric; upper rollers which are formed at the dye chamber and the middle upper part of the rolling member; and a wire which is extended from the roll bar to be flowed into the dye chamber after passing the upper roller, and to be supported by the heavy pipe for being discharged from the dye chamber then being connected to the roll bar after passing the upper roller. The present invention controls the rotary speed of the motor for dyeing in normal and reverse rotations, to control the gradation of dyeing color by controlling the dipping time with the speed control.
