PURPOSE: A sensor node deployment method guaranteeing event detection performance for a large-scale sensor network is provided to reflect general requirements for event transmission performance and event detection performance and obtain an optimal solution more quickly. CONSTITUTION: A sensor node deployment method for configuration of a sensor network comprises the steps of: deploying sensor nodes based on geographic information system (GIS) information of an area where the sensor network is to be configured to satisfy event transmission performance and event detection performance of each sensor node (S110); and redeploying the sensor nodes based on a simulated annealing (SA) technique using a system cost function to minimize the number of the sensor nodes deployed in the area while the event transmission performance and the event detection performance satisfy required performance (S120). [Reference numerals] (AA) Start; (BB) End; (S110) Deploy sensor nodes in a way where they are able to perform an event delivery function and an event detection function at a maximum level; (S120) Re-deploy the sensor nodes in a way where the minimum number of sensor nodes' event delivery and event detection functions can satisfy a previously-set condition
