Mobile terminal for Automatic VLR Update in Mobile Communication and method thereof

An automatic VLR(Visitor Location Register) update system in mobile communication and a method thereof are provided to enable a mobile communication terminal to cancel an NPR(No Paging Response) state to demand updating of self location-related information about a VLR, thereby quickly receiving SMS(Short Message Service) receiving calls accumulated in an SMSC(SMS Center) while the terminal is in the NPR state. A controller(11) confirms that a mobile communication terminal is in NPR state, and instructs cancellation of the NPR state. An NPR checking unit(13) cancels the NPR state as receiving the instruction of the cancellation of the NPR state, and takes charge of transmission processing of a VLR update signal. If the NPR state is confirmed by the controller, the NPR checking unit starts to drive. If the instruction of the cancellation is received, the NPR checking unit transmits a parameter change signal to an RF(Radio Frequency) unit(12), to send the VLR update signal to an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) by parameter changes.
