MOLD APPARATUS TO MANUFACTURE CU-CD ALLOY BILLET

The present invention relates to a mold for semi-continuous casting a copper-cadmium billet which discharges all gas generated by the chemical reaction of copper and cadmium to the outside when a cylindrical billet is made through a copper and cadmium alloy, slowly cools the cast billet to prevent the generation of center cracks and the surface defects, and manufactures the billet to a desired length. The mold of the present invention includes: a mold supporter having a billet passing hole formed up and down at the center portion thereof; an internal mold having a cylindrical shape and a cooling water moving groove spirally formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof; an external mold tightly fitted to the outer peripheral surface of the internal mold and having a first flange formed outwardly from the lower portion thereof in such a manner as to be fixed to a cover covering the billet passing hole of the mold supporter; a cooling water inlet pipe fixed to the external mold in such a manner as to communicate with the lower end portion of the cooling water moving groove; and a cooling water outlet pipe fixed to the external mold in such a manner as to communicate with the upper end portion of the cooling water moving groove.
