The present invention relates to a composition for a footwear midsole containing a phosphorescent pigment and a method for manufacturing a footwear midsole using the composition. More particularly, the composition includes ethylene vinyl acetate, a phosphorescent pigment, a curing gent and a foaming agent. The method includes a raw material mixing step for preparing a mixture by mixing ethylene vinyl acetate, the phosphorescent pigment and the curing agent; a foaming agent mixing step for mixing the mixture obtained in the raw material mixing step with a foaming agent; and a foaming step of extruding the mixture mixed with the foaming agent through the foaming agent mixing step to form a pellet, inserting the pellet in a mold, and foaming. By using the components and the processes, a midsole having good mechanical properties, including a phosphorescent pigment and showing glow-in-the dark effect at night may be obtained through simple processes.
