METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING FRAME IN RING NETWORK APPLIED HSR PROTOCOL

A method and an apparatus for improving a traffic function using a traffic control intelligent electronic device (IED) in a ring network to which an HSR protocol is applied are disclosed. The present invention provides a method for making a traffic control IED (TCIED) control transmission and reception of a frame wherein the TCIED is set among a plurality of IEDs, comprising the steps of: storing a data frame firstly received via a first port among data frames transmitted via a bi-directional port of a source IED; determining a maximum delay time of the data frame; and determining deletion or transmission of the stored data frame according to whether the data frame is received via a second port within the maximum delay time. The present invention drastically reduces a traffic load in the network while assuring stability that the data frame may be safely transmitted when the network is disconnected in the case of using a traditional HSR protocol.
