The present invention provides a contactless temperature measuring apparatus and a method thereof. A contactless temperature measuring apparatus includes a thermoelectric device including a hot contact plate and a cool contact plate exposed to the atmosphere; a black paint disposed on the cool contact plate to absorb radiant energy radiated from a measurement target and to transfer the absorbed radiant energy to the cool contact plate; an upper thermometer to measure the temperature of the hot contact plate; a lower thermometer to measure the ambient temperature of the cool contact plate; and a signal processor to receive an output signal of the thermoelectric device, an output signal of the upper thermometer, and an output signal of the lower thermometer for extracting the radiant temperature of the measurement target.
