A function extension module which provides an additional function and a digital image processing apparatus comprising the same are provided to supply a specific function to the digital image processing apparatus, thereby adding a function that a user wants later. An interface unit(210,220) is exposed to the outside to contact with a digital image processing apparatus. The interface unit sends and receives a control signal or data with the digital image processing apparatus. A memory(230) stores a program performing a specific function. A processor(240) processes an input control signal or the input data transmitted from the digital image processing apparatus through the interface unit according to the program.
