The present invention relates to a continuously operated apparatus for extracting an essential oil which comprises: a distillation tank which is connected with a first pump and includes an extract tray in an inside thereof; a cover formed on the top of distillation tank; a blocking plate which is formed between a distillation tank and the cover to enclose the top of the distillation tank and includes a steam discharging opening and a pressure adjusting valve; a steam collection box formed on an inside of the cover; an essential oil extraction pipe installed on an inside the steam collection box; a cooling water circulation pipe formed to cover the essential extraction pipe; and a cooling water supplying device for supplying cooling water to the cooling water circulation pipe. According to the present invention, the continuously operated apparatus for extracting an essential oil can produce an aromatic and natural essential oil having a high yield with low costs.
