A method of detecting a data packet which causes abnormal billing in a mobile communications network according to the present invention includes the following steps: receiving a packet transmitted/received between the mobile communications network and an external network, and confirming whether the received packet is an inbound user data packet input from the external network to the mobile communications network; extracting packet information for the received packet when the received packet is an inbound user data packet; searching for the same packet information from an outbound management table by using the packet information extracted from the inbound user data packet; and determining the received packet as a packet causing abnormal billing when the same packet information is not found out. Thus, a data packet causing abnormal billing can be found out.
